Welcome to Student Cross
 |
When I first walked to
Walsingham with Student Cross in 2001, I had no idea that in
2011 I would be elected as the General Organising Director
of the pilgrimage for 2012.
Between now and next Easter I
will be helping to co-ordinate the ten groups that currently
make up the pilgrimage, and if all goes to plan I will be
welcoming an eleventh group into Walsingham for the first
time. Hopefully the fact that you are reading this means
that you too could be joining us on our journey for Holy
Week 2012.
Student Cross is a diverse
community, consisting of people from all age groups and
backgrounds, coming from a wide range of Christian
traditions. Each group has a character as distinct as the
route they take, and it is from this diversity that we gain
our richness and strength as a community. |
Although we are only together for a
short period of time each year forty eight hours in Walsingham as
Student Cross in its entirety, and up to a week before that as a
Leg (a group that walks in witness together), the experience
reaches far beyond that and for many people is genuinely life
changing.
Our website contains a wide range of
information about the pilgrimage, its history, and the Legs that
make it up. Additionally there are details about the Student Cross
Association (SCA), which is a charitable body whose function is to
help remove financial barriers which may prevent students and
non-students alike from joining us on our journey.
Student Cross has been enriching my life for over ten years now if
you think it could be something that you would enjoy too, then
please do contact either myself or one of the Legs directly for more
information.
