Northern Leg -
Outlook
Northern Leg likes to think it's a leg
of evolution. We believe that every walker brings with them unique
gifts and a unique contribution to the week. Together during the
week we try to immerse ourselves totally in the experience of Holy
Week, and in the process to discover more about ourselves and the
people we are with. Often by the end of the week we have become a
very strong community within which each walker has begun friendships
that will last a lifetime.
Walking Northern Leg is a week of challenges. There is the physical
challenge of walking 120 miles. There are the mental challenges
which arise from our discussions, our liturgies and from the
questions which inevitable arise from the very nature of what we are
doing. Then there are the emotional challenges of spending a week
living very closely together, to pass through the petty annoyance
and become a community bound together through a common experience.
Most of all walking Northern is an experience of joy and laughter.
The challenges are always outweighed by the support and the
companionship found together.
Walking the week with Northern Leg is about slowing down, about
stepping back from the frantic pace of normal life. Forget about
assignments, work, deadlines and all those nasty stressful things.
Indulge in having all the time in the world to talk, drink, sing,
laugh and discover more about Easter and yourself, if you dare.
The walk is 120 miles but it is broken down with plenty of breaks.
You don't have to be super fit to do it and we have support cars to
carry luggage - and you, if you need a rest.
Hope to see you this coming Easter on Northern. |
