In the last couple of years, it cost roughly £4000 for 25 or so members of London Leg to go on pilgrimage to Walsingham as part of Student Cross. This money is spent on food, accommodation, preparation before the week, on fuelling the support cars which carry the luggage, as well as on many other necessary things. We ask pilgrims to decide what to pay based on their level of income and support is available from the Student Cross Association (SCA) to help students or those on low incomes. It is one of the aims of Student Cross that lack of money should not be a bar to those wanting to take part.

The cost for fully waged walkers is £140, which covers the estimated costs of the pilgrimage. For those on lower incomes, we suggest a lower value of £80-£100. For the unwaged, we suggest a lower contribution of £50-£60. It is up to you to offer what you can afford. Any extra donations will be warmly received and will help with our fundraising efforts to offset the costs for those on lower incomes.

Other expenditure incurred during the week might be drinks in the numerous watering holes we pass through and some money for the trip back out of Walsingham. There are usually two special buses that leave Walsingham on Easter Sunday after lunch, one goes west towards Leicester (via Peterborough) and the other goes south towards London, dropping off along the way if need be. The cost of hiring the coaches is split among those signing up to travel, so the more that use them the cheaper they are. £15-£18 should usually be sufficient. The 2012 pilgrimage runs from the evening of Friday 30 March to the afternoon of Sunday 8 April 2012.
